Microsoft Office applications use a .pip file to store personalized menu and toolbar settings.
The location in which .pip files are stored varies according to version of Windows, and should be:
- For Windows Vista and later:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office
- For Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Office
- For Windows 98 and ME:
C:\Windows\Applications Data\Microsoft\Office
- For Windows 98 wth profiles enabled, and NT:
C:\Windows\Profiles\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Office
Files are named according to the Microsoft application which created them and the version of that application:

The file is a binary encoded file.
