MS-Windows Troubleshooting
ERROR: ioerror
OFFENDING COMMAND: ...
Symptom:
When printing to a postscript printer the following message is printed instead of the expected output:
ERROR: ioerror
OFFENDING COMMAND: ...
STACK: ...
The exact text following the ‘OFFENDING COMMAND:
’
and ‘STACK:
’ lines may vary.
Cause:
This error indicates that the printer could not decode the postscript that was sent to it.
Possible Remedies:
- The most likely cause of this problem, particularly when the printer has previously been working correctly, is that there is a problem with the printer cable. This error has been observed when the printer cable has worked itself loose. Check that the printer cable is still plugged firmly into both the printer and the workstation. If the cable appears snugly connected then try a replacement cable.
- If printing with a new printer driver then it is remotely possible that the driver is at fault.
