Dynamics CRM 2011 Troubleshooting
No Microsoft Dynamics CRM user exists with the specified domain name and user ID
Symptom:
When pointing Internet Explorer at the dynamics CRM server, the following message is displayed in the browser:
No Microsoft Dynamics CRM user exists with the specified domain name and user ID
A Microsoft Dynamics CRM user record does not exist with the specified domain name and user ID.
The same error can be observed when logging in using a browser other than Internet Explorer after being prompted for a username and password.
Cause:
This error means what it says - there is no user account in dynamics CRM for the specified user name.
In a domain environment Internet Explorer knows the account that you are logged in using and will use that instead of asking. Other browsers will ask for your username and password. In either case, the user account that you are logged in with or which you provided is not a registered account in Dynamics CRM.
Possible Remedies:
- If asked for your username and password then check that you are entering the correct username and password.
- Ask an administrator to create an account for you.
User administration in Dynamics CRM 2011 is under Settings → System → Administration → Users
These notes have been tested with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, and may apply to other versions as well.
