CryCopy (Beta)
CryCopy is a command line utility that provides much the same functionality as Web Site Publisher.
This is a major rewrite of the original CryCopy. Supporting a number of new features, as well as improved multithreading (you can now copy multiple files at once).
Key features of CryCopy:
- Command line file copy.
- Allows copying to and from FTP servers.
- Allows files to be deleted at the destination which do not exist at the source.
- Supports wildcard copy and allows exclusions to be specified.
- Can copy multiple files as once.
- Files can be zipped (and password protected) during copy.
CryCopy was originally developed as a backup utility (as once an copy of a drive has been made CryCopy is extremely efficient in keeping that copy up to date as it only copies what has changed and can delete what is no longer needed) and is still used in this role in several companies.
Limitations
Please consider this a beta release. All the functionality provided is believed to work and there are no known problems. However there is some functionality that is planned but not yet implimented in this release.
Functionality that was available in the original CryCopy that has not yet been implimented includes:
- Text mode FTP copy, all files are copied as binary.
- Chmod, to apply custom settings to created files or folders, when copying to FTP.
- Log file creation.
Be aware also that some command line flags have changed since the original release, so please review the command line flags available.
Download
To download a zip of the executable click here: download crycopy.zip
All you need to do to use the utility is to un-zip it. You can either run it directly (i.e. place it in the same folder from which it is to be used) or place it somewhere in the path. There is no uninstall, to remove simply delete the executable.
