BrioQuery file.

A .bqy file is a "Brio Query" file. It is also known as an "Interactive Reporting Web Client" file.

A .bqy file is a saved Interactive reporting document (i.e. a query), saved from the ERM Workspace of Oracle Hyperion Interactive Reporting. Saved .bqy files can be encrypted, and may require a password to open in design mode.

Using the Hyperion (or older Brio Query) client, a .bqy file can be exported (File → Export → Section) to an HTML (.htm), Tab delimited file (.txt), Jpeg (.jpg) or Excel file (.xls).

The company which originally developed the file, was known as Brio Software - hence "BrioQuery file". This company was eventually taken over and the software merged into Oracle's Hyperion Performance Management software - hence why the file is now sometimes known by the different name of "Interactive Reporting Web Client".
