Nero BackItUp compressed archive. A .nba file is a compressed archive file generated using Nero's "BackItUp & Burn" software. This is a software package for backing up files, allowing them to be stored on the local hard disk or remotely using on-line storage.

Nero's "BackItUp & Burn" software is also referred to as simply "Back It Up" in on-line discussions. It is reported that files can be recovered from a .nba archive by renaming the file to .zip and then treating it as a normal zip file. The disadvantage of this method is that it only allows files and paths to be recovered in 8.3 format, so names will become truncated.

Files should be restored from a .nba file using Nero's BackItUp software.
