1. Newsgroup article file. A text file containing a newsgroup message, complete with headers. These files are used to store downloaded newsgroup articles by both Outlook Express and its successor Windows Mail.

2. Newsmaster II data file. Newsmaster was an early desktop publishing program (DTP) available on the PC and Commodore in the late-1980s/early-1990s. Newsmaster II is now defunct.
