1. Packed Bohemia Object file. Also known as a "Packed Bank of Files (file)" or "Operation Flashpoint game mission folder".

A .pbo file is a compressed file which contains other (compressed) files used by Bohemia Interactive Games. A .pbo file is generated by the Bohemia Mission Editor, and contains all the files and folders which make a mission, campaign or add-on.

2. Profiler Binary Output file.

A .pbo file is an intermediate file generated by the Microsoft Visual C++ profiler (in Visual Studio 6.0) and used to transfer information between profiling steps. A profiler is a developer tool used to identify which parts of a software application take most of the processing time.
