1. Response file. A response file is a text file that contains commands which can be understood when passed the relevant application. Response files are used by a number of Microsoft applications to allow an application to run unattended, taking commands from the response file instead of requiring user intervention.

2. ODBC driver configuration file. File extension encountered on the file odbcconf.rsp which is distributed as part of Microsoft Data Access Components.

3. Registry back-up file. A .rsp file is generated and used by Windows Registry Repair Pro as a registry back-up file.

Windows Registry Repair Pro is a tool for repairing the Windows registry. It will identify missing and invalid references in the Windows registry, allowing these to be removed. The .rsp registry back-up file is produced when registry entries are removed, providing a way to restore the removed entries if necessary. The tool will also do other clean up operations on a Windows PC.
