Microsoft Visual Studio Extension Installer file.

Also known as a VSIX Package file.

A .vsix file is a deployment file containing an extension for Visual Studio 2010. Visual Studio should recognise the extension so you should be able to install a .vsix file by simply double clicking it (provided you have Visual Studio 2010 installed).

A .visx file follows the Microsoft Open Package file standard, which means that should you want you can rename the file to .zip and then open it and view its contents as though it were a compressed .zip file.
