AVR
- AVR
- 1. Automatic Voltage Regulator. A device that monitors the incoming
voltage on an electrical line (typically directly off the mains) providing
an electrical output with
any spikes removed and compensated for under voltage, over voltage and
browouts in the original supply. An AVR will remove voltage
fluctuations that might otherwise destroy or reduce the life of electronic
components.
An AVR is often (but not always) part of a UPS.
- 2. Automatic Voice Recognition.
