- Dynamic Domain Name Service (or Dynamic Domain Name System). DNS. Dynamic DNS provides a central (public) database
where DNS information can be stored and retrieved. It allows those using
a dynamic IP address (i.e. one where it changes each time the computer
connects to the internet) to be registered centrally so others can
connect to it by name (using standard DNS).
Commonly abbreviated to DDNS.
