Open Source Definition (OSD) refers to a set of criteria used by the Open Source Initiative to determine whether or not software can be considered to be open source.

- 2. On Screen Display.
On screen display (OSD) is the on-screen display or menu (typically on TVs or Monitors) generated by a video recorder, dvd drive, monitor or other electronic device, which provides information about the status or settings of the device. Some means will typically be provided to allow some interaction with the OSD. This method of providing information contrasts with older devices which provided display information on the device itself.
