WGS84

- World Geodetic System, 1984 (revised 2004). A global coordinate system. Originally
developed as a military standard (MIL-STD-2401 Military Standard), WGS84 was produced to address the
need for a global positioning coordinate system (for GPS).
WGS84 is an earth fixed global reference frame used for defining coordinates when surveying and by GPS systems.
