Windows scripting host provides superior scripting capabilities over the traditional .cmd or .bat files historically used for Windows scripting. WSH allows scripting using either VBScript or JScript.
WSH is distributed with Windows 98 and later and Windows 2000 and later, but also available on earlier Windows systems if Internet Explorer 5 or later is installed.
